5 Fitness Favorites, Vol. 2

October 26, 2016

My first 5 Fitness Favorites post included a lot of food because, well I love food. But when I was trying to decide on what to include in the next fitness favorites post, I thought it would be fun to include some items I use every week in the gym.

5 Fitness Favorites, workout accessories, gym accessories, fitness

These items are super affordable and will help you get the most out of your workout - and who doesn't want that? Of course - you can totally take these items to the park, your living room, hotel room and anywhere in between, too! Let's get to it!

1. B-Force Mini Loops Resistance Bands

B Force Bands, Booty Bands, Leg Day, Naturally Me, B-Force Mini Loops Resistance Bands

I've been using these resistance bands for a while now and I can't tell you how much of a difference they make during leg/booty day. While squatting, lunging, etc you always want to make sure you keep resistance and these bands keep you accountable - while making each work out more challenging. For $20 you get 5 bands and each color is a different resistance so you can use a lighter one (yellow) or increase the resistance with the black or red bands which are the 2 that I usually use.

Where to buy: bforcebands.com

2. C9 Champion Slider Discs

Slider discs have been another affordable investment that adds even more dimension to my workouts. They're the perfect portable training tool to get a full-body workout inside the gym or your home. I love to use them for ab workouts as well as reverse lunges and side lunges to enhance toning and sculpting.

Where to buy: Target

3. Harbinger Weightlifting Belt

Pull up hold, Harbinger Weightlifting Belt, Women's weightlifting belt, fitness accessories, workout accessories

Ladies - if you're incorporating weightlifting into your workout routine at all, you need a weightlifting belt! Trust me, this little thing will help you in so many ways. First, it will help keep your back and spine in a neutral position. When we lift heavy objects, we tend to arch our back which puts pressure on the spine which can then cause back problems. The weightlifting belt helps you keep your back straight as you do each rep. It also helps you keep good form - which has been a huge help for me, especially when dead lifting and going so heavy each set.

Where to buy: Amazon, Dick's Sporting Goods (in store and online)

4. Champion Women's Gusto Cut Out Runner Sneakers

Payless shoes, Champion Sneakers, Women's Sneakers, Champion Women's Gusto Cut Out Runner Sneaker

Ever since my boyfriend and I popped into Payless a few months ago, I have been pleasantly surprised by the amazing selection of shoes there! We went in to check out their sneakers and both walked out with a pair of these Champion shoes (they come in men's, too!). Even though they're labeled as a running shoes - which I have used them for - I mainly wear them for weightlifting and they're still comfortable since they have memory foam. And can we talk about how cute they are?! They come in several different colors and color combinations too which is always a plus. If you love the Nike Free sneakers like I do, these are a very similar and much more affordable option!

Where to buy: Payless

5. Intervals App

Intervals app, iPhone workout app, Android workout app, Intervals Training App, Workout app, gym app, HIIT app

WHY it took me so long to download a HIIT (high intensity interval training) app, I'm embarrassed to say, I don't know. But that's finally changed and I just had to share this one with you guys in case you're looking for one as well. I found the app by searching "HIIT interval training timer" in the App Store, downloaded it and hoped for the best. (Literally because I was downloading it right before the workout I needed it for.)

It is so easy to use! You can set the amount of rest time, recover time, interval duration, warm-up/cool down time, and even alert sounds and colors. To make it even easier, you can save the settings for use at another time.

Where to download: The App Store

  3. I really need to get a weightlifting belt! I tend to hyper-extend and that's no good. I LOOOVE using an intervals app.

My coach just gave me a pair of her cross trainers to try (I was lifting in running shoes before) and it was a GAME changer.
