My 2016 Goals

January 4, 2016

I'm still finding it hard to believe that it's now 2016.... where does the time go?! I am, however, excited for a new year and fresh start. This year, I bought a Passion Planner and spent the weekend reflecting on my goals. For five minutes, I wrote down all my goals - big and small - and a timeline to get to each. It was just what I needed to start the new year organized and focused on my goals, so I figured why not share some of them here too. Hold me accountable, people!

Sign up for a fitness competition - This is at the very top of my list and it's something I've been contemplating for a while. I just need to take the plunge already!

Get back to doing research - Due to the holiday hustle and bustle, I haven't been doing much research on new workouts to incorporate into my gym routine and it's time to change that! It's important to keep your body guessing and prevent boredom.

4 Sets, No Rest - I've already started incorporating this into my daily fitness routine and I've noticed a HUGE difference in the way my body responds. Instead of 3 sets, I've moved up to 4 with no rest in between. Let me tell you, my heart rate increases immediately and I feel like I get so much more out of my workout! It also forces me to drink more water, too which is always a plus.

Conquer a handstand - As my yoga practice progresses, I really want to be able to hold a handstand as long as possible. I've definitely mastered the headstand so it's time to shift my focus to a new goal.

Be able to do 15-20 pull-ups - They're one of the most effective resistance training exercises. I haven't been working on them as much as I should... until now!

Learn how to count macros -  I've tried to understand the whole IIFYM (if it fits your macros) thing, but I just don't get it. Ha! I know that eating right not only fuels your workouts, but proper nutrition will also help you reach goals... whether it's to lose weight, gain muscle, etc. It's really fascinating and past time for me to sit down and learn!

Read my magazines - This is so embarrassing but I have magazines from over 6 months ago I've never opened. Magazines are a great source of inspiration, so I need to take more "me" time to just sit and read.

  1. Seems like a good plan girl. Well, I haven't think of doing something like that. But I guess, I am surely going to buy your point about the 15-20 pull ups, hopefully that will help me to lose some butt fats.
