Goodbye 2012

December 31, 2012

We are back from Florida and I can't tell you how relaxing and fun it was! Reality is now setting in and I realize how fast 2012 has flown by. It's been an amazing year full of happenings and growing this blog. While planning new posts, I found myself looking back at a year-full of outfits - and it was fun to see where I took risks and stepped out of my comfort zone. This new year, I'm continuing the same goal and hope you'll join me in Feeling Good!

Cheers to 2013 and thanks a bunch for reading! XOXO

I hope you all had a great relaxing holiday! For us, the month of December has been jam-packed with holiday events and they were all so much fun! Here's a look into some events via Instagram, including a cocktail party, decorating our tree and much more. (I just realized there is a lot of sparkle in these photos and I love it! It's that time of year after all.)

We are off to Florida until next week! If you're looking for an escape from all this cold weather, follow me on Instagram here or @alkfeelinggood. I'll be back soon with lots of new posts to share!

Robert Rodriguez Lace Dress

December 26, 2012

Since we enjoyed Christmas in DC this year, we treated ourselves to a night out shortly before Santa arrived. I knew right away I was wearing my new Robert Rodriguez lace dress for a "Chocolate Decadence" date night at the Ritz DC. It was such a fabulous event complete with complimentary champagne and all-you-could-eat chocolate desserts!

Merry Christmas

December 24, 2012

We're staying in DC for Christmas this year, so today will be full of baking and prep for dinner tomorrow with Matt's coworker. Wherever you are, I hope you are spending it with the people you love, laughing and eating a lot and remembering the reason for the season! I'll be back soon with many exciting posts... Thanks a bunch for reading! xo

Friday's Fancies: Holiday Best

December 21, 2012

Holiday Best

Quick story: my middle school colors were red, black and white and I swore up and down I would never wear the combo.

And here we are xx years later where I'm going all out for today's FF using the color combination I used to hate. To me, "holiday best" means a fabulous red dress, animal print and black and gold accessories. I also (virtually) splurged on the heels because they're just perfect. And another bonus: unlike bridesmaids dresses, this red hot number can be worn over and over again!

Happy Friday and don't forget to enter my May Books giveaway!

Plaid Shirt & Stripes

December 20, 2012

In trying to remix my wardrobe I found these two pieces and decided to pair them together. I love the way the red plaid shirt and striped sweater compliment each other! It's a match made in heaven.. that I should have tried a long time ago if you ask me.

P.S. Have you entered my May Books giveaway yet? You could win a custom planner! Enter here.

Giveaway: May Books (Closed)

December 19, 2012

Since college, I've carried a planner with me 24/7/365. Let's just say - I've had many planners and I'm never converting to iCal. I write everything in my planner. Visits, trips, that time I got pink eye... and even special memories like buying our first home. Normally I pick up my planner at Target - but as much as I love that darn store, I've officially converted to May Books for my OCD planning needs.

I can stand by the company's motto 100%: "Life is short. Make it pretty!" I couldn't agree more so I had to share the goodness that is May Books custom planners with you all.

Some features that I love:
-All the products are eco-friendly right down to the thread used to sew each page together
-You can pick your pattern, text or monogram (and see what it looks like right on the web page)
-Water resistant covers
-The packaging is adorable (silly I know, but cute packaging makes the delivery even more exciting)

So why not join me in getting rid of ugly planners?? May Books has graciously agreed to give a custom planner away to one lucky Feeling Good reader! Enter using the widget below (must be a follower of FG). Good luck!

Cable Knit & Pleats

December 18, 2012

Lately I've been going back through my closet to see if there are any dresses that I could add a sweater overtop. I finally tried it over the weekend for church and I love the way it turned out. There's just something dressy yet cozy about a sweater over a dress. Adding a statement necklace never hurts, and I can tell already that this Jewelmint beauty will be getting a lot of use!

ASOS Foil Print Sweater

December 17, 2012

I cannot pick out one single thing that I am swooning over in this outfit - I am in love with it all! This is what I decided on for casual holiday party #1 at the office. As soon as I received my metallic gold ASOS sweater, I knew immediately I was pairing it with my burgundy skinny jeans. I thought about wearing flats, but then decided to break in my new blush Shoemint heels.

Hope you all had a great weekend!
