March 31, 2012

For a low-key night out to eat with family I chose stripes (are you surprised?). This shirt.. goes beyond all stripes right now- and further feeds my addiction! I love the casual/preppy feel with a touch of electric pink. I even toned down the arm party. :)

Off to get some rest before an early wake up. Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Sky High

March 28, 2012

I decided to pull out my sky high black heels today to add into my outfit. All of the pieces I'm wearing (with the exception of the green sweater) are oldies - but goodies.

It's not very often I find great skirts in Forever 21, but this one ended up being perfect. I love the print and kept my top simple but added the bright green color. Happy Wednesday!!

White Out

March 25, 2012

Not sure why, but I packed these white jeans away after last summer. They weren't in hiding for long! I brought them back out for today's mission: a cool yet laid back look -- and grocery shopping. Both missions: accomplished. I love the look of Chambray with bright white - and you can dress these pants up or down anytime of the year!

Singing in the Rain

March 24, 2012

Usually I'm singing Rain Rain Go Away! but today, I'm kind of enjoying it. We need every droplet to help the flowers grow big and strong!

Plus, I'm digging my outfit - especially the rain boots!! Bonus: I bought them in the kids section. Hello cheaper price! (Sometimes my small feet are great.) I was feeling gingham, and leggings for some reason, too. It's a comfy/cute outfit that works when it's a dreary day.

What's your go-to rainy day outfit?

2 Years, Cherry Blossoms and Pink Pants

March 18, 2012

Living a short Metro ride from DC is amazing. I'm so excited for this time of year: Cherry Blossoms! Peak bloom is only 2 days away, but Matt and I decided to check them out today. I'm so glad we did! They're blooming and look so pretty. Perfect backdrop for pictures :)

Matt kept joking how bright my pants are but I love them!! They are comfortable, versatile and so worth the price! (They got a lot of stares, too) It was the perfect outfit for an overcast/chilly day.

Happy 2 years to My Love... and thanks for taking my pictures for me! It's nice to have a photographer once in a while. ;)

Going Green

March 17, 2012

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Ask my parents and they'll tell you different percentages of my Irishness. It's really cute. Maybe one day I'll know, but for now I must celebrate my 75% 25% Irish-ness somehow - so why not start with my outfit?

This shirt has been hanging since I bought it several weeks ago. What a shame!! Today felt like the perfect time to bring it out. I love the rugby stripes and the detailing at the sleeves. It's so light, too. Even better? I've seen a similar long sleeve version that would leave you broke and wishing to stumble upon a pot 'o gold.

And the necklace? Two years ago, my friend was giving a bunch of jewelry away and let me take what I wanted. I saw this funky green gem and gave it a home. This is the first time I've worn it and it's awesome. Must incorporate it into more outfits. I've also seen necklaces just like it for a lot more than free.

After a fun day out and about, Matt and I made our own delicious Shamrock Shakes!! Enjoying my Irish heritage is fun.... just don't ask me to Riverdance.

Jackie Oh!

March 16, 2012

Raise your freshly-painted nails if you're tired of dark polish!

That would be me. As much as I love dark reds, browns and black on my nails I am tired of those colors at the moment. That is, until I see the bottles in my polish stash and think I need to use them.

I was so excited to find this Color Club nail polish called Jackie Oh! in this month's Birchbox. The mini bottle is adorable and pink is an automatic favorite! It's definitely brighter when on my nails, but that's what I love! It brings attention to my hands and I'm okay with that. They'll also go perfectly with tomorrow's blog post...... stay tuned!

(Wait! I should also include that I'm not getting paid by Birchbox to say any of this. I like a product, so I share) If you want to learn more about Birchbox, click here.

Sunday Stripes

March 11, 2012

Hello sun and gorg-eous weather!! I have missed you. It was the perfect day for a walk, sitting on our balcony and soaking up the sun. Since there is still a chill in the air, I opted for this dress. It's a bit heavier material and paired with boots turned out to be perfect. (Plus, I am not ready to bare all of my pale legs yet.) I am ready, however, for a spray tan...

Had to add the last picture.... a sure sign of warm weather and they're so pretty! Hope you're having a great Sunday!

Sunny Day

For Saturday shopping, I decided to rock my new yellow pants. It looked deceivingly warm out so I left the coat at home and opted for another layer - fur. As I was combing through my shoes, I found a pair of heels I haven't worn in a while. Sometimes I get so caught up in recent purchases, I forget about the things I've had! These are one of my favorite pairs - I love the animal skin and cutouts.

P.S. ~ I am in love with my new cross bracelet! It's from Derng and became my first Etsy purchase. Her store is full of amazing pieces at a reasonable price. Even the shipping is quick! I definitely plan on getting more pieces.

Rock The Red Pump

March 9, 2012

Today, I'm showing my support for women/girls with HIV/AIDS. It's through an organization called Rock The Red Pump and I want to help raise awareness about the impact. That's the start in fighting any issue, and I love that the red shoe is a symbol of empowerment!! As the organization says: Awareness is always in style!

Preparing for this VIP (very important post), I went through my shoe collection mentally and realized I don't own a red pump! This is unheard of! I DO, however, own a red wedge. That still counts, right?

Are you rocking the red pump today in support? I'd love to see! Comment below with your blog link!!

March 3, 2012

Today, Matt and I stopped for some home improvement items, went to see The Vow (finally!) and ate a yummy dinner out. It was a gorgeous day ~ I didn't even need a coat!

I kept my obsession with stripes ever-so-present with this new shirt I purchased a week ago. (On sale!!)
